Job/Department Summary: As the Web Support Specialist within the Web Services team, the incumbent operates under the general supervision of the Web Services lead.
This position assumes responsibility for providing specialized support to web pages, websites, web content management systems, and various systems administered by Web Services.
In this role, the Web Support Specialist serves as the initial point of contact and plays a pivotal role in coordinating efforts between clients and the Web Services team.
The specialist manages the workflow of the ticketing system, ensuring seamless communication and efficient resolution of issues.
Additionally, this role is responsible for assisting in the delivery of training for campus content contributors, overseeing the activities of student assistants, and collaborating with technical and creative personnel.
The Web Support Specialist is tasked with ensuring the accessibility of the campus web for all users through manual evaluations and remediation efforts.
This includes actively participating in the creation and remediation of digital content to meet accessibility standards as necessary.
The incumbent contributes significantly to maintaining the efficiency and inclusivity of the university's web presence while actively supporting a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Required Education and Experience: The qualifications listed above would normally be obtained by a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems educational technology, communications or job-related field or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.
AND Two years of full-time job-related experience.
OR An equivalent combination of job-related experience and education providing the requisite skills and knowledge to independently apply technical judgment to standard application systems.
Preferences: Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: Bilingual 3 years of full-time job related experience Previous working experience with a web content management system Experience with manual testing of websites for accessibility Experience working in a user support role Time Base: Full-time Pay Plan: 12/12 Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $56,136 - $138,564 per year.
