Electrician - Swing Shift

*Job Title:* Electrician – Swing Shift *FLSA Status:* Hourly, Non-Exempt *Wage Rate: *$41.
00 per hour *SUMMARY* The Electrician will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

*Electrical Responsibilities:* * Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment in accordance with electrical codes and safety standards.
* Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform diagnostics to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
* Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment to ensure functionality and compliance with regulations.
* Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and departments to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
* Perform preventive maintenance tasks on electrical systems and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliability.
* Document maintenance and repair activities, including work performed, parts used, and any relevant observations or recommendations.
*Continuous Improvement: * * Participate in training programs and stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to electrical systems and safety.
* Assist in developing and implementing electrical maintenance schedules and procedures to optimize equipment performance and longevity.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance electrical systems and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
*Safety:* * Always adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
* Participates in Departmental and Company Safety Program.
* Understands the safety requirements that pertain to the job.
*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES* Ability to direct personnel that may be required to help on certain jobs.
*QUALIFICATIONS * To perform this job successfully, you must be able to do each essential duty satisfactorily.

*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE* High school diploma or equivalent, required.
Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or technical training, required.
Journeyman Electrician license, highly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician, in an industrial setting, required.
Food manufacturing experience, highly preferred.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, schematics, PLC’s, and blueprints.
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical issues and performing repairs and maintenance tasks.
Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards (NEC, NFPA, OSHA).
*LANGUAGE SKILLS* Ability to read, write and speak English, ability to read and understand documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and letters.
Must have the ability to communicate with peers, leaders, etc.
*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
*REASONING ABILITY* Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several possible choices in common situations.
*CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS* Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
Must have the ability to become forklift certified.
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds which should be done in tandem with another person.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT* Must be able to work Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
