We are currently seeking a Construction Assistant to work on our Chico, CA project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Superior ability to manage commitments – make requests, hold promises, gather assertions, provide assessments
Create, maintain and enforce a safe jobsite environment
Perform Subcontractor Safety Orientation
Assist with laborers as needed (physical labor involved)
Assist in production, maintenance and execution of project
Assist with compliance of the budget
Assist in supervision and coordination of construction activity, including those of trade contractors
Ensure project materials and workmanship meet company quality standards and design requirements
Review building plans
Maintain SWPPP Labor as needed
Assist Superintendent with inspections and other physical tasks
Install guardrails
Adjusting site logistics as needed
Assist with QC
Track Equipment
Assist with Deliveries
Enforce Safety including installing, maintaining & repairing safety measures
Enforce Daily Housekeeping / Clean as needed
Qualifications:
Preferred Experience in Multi-Family Unit Construction
Preferred previous carpentry skills/experience
In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and company operations, including construction specifications, construction plans, building materials, methods, and procedures
Obtain or hold Forklift Certification
Obtain or hold CPR - First Aid - OSHA 10 card
Participate in related certification (CPR, Forklift, OSHA 10, 30)
Ability to review and/or learn how to read building plans and schedules.
Ambition to seek and learn assist.
Superintendent duties
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds
Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl
Ability to maintain balance
Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job function
Must hold a valid driver’s license
