POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or GED or equivalent experience.
Valid California driver’s license.
Six months experience in purchasing, in either retail related field.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must have good English written/oral communication skills.
Must be able to maintain positive composure in difficult situate ions.
Personal computer experience preferred.
Basic familiarity with computerized data entry and filing.
Basic math skills.
POSITION SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
Assume the responsibility of the Materials Management Supervisor in the position’s absence.
Receives supplies into stock from various vendors.
Properly distributes medical supplies to the appropriate departments according to established par levels.
Types and logs Purchase Orders.
Makes corrections, deletions, and adjustment of quantities of materials stocked in relation to PAR level replenishment systems throughout the hospital.
Checks all documents for accuracy prior to the processing of packing slips.
Maintains all areas of material storage in a neat and organized manner, utilizing proper rotation.
Prepares items for return shipment.
Audits inventory in storeroom.
Prints and copies in-house documents.
Prints special requests for departments with proper authorization.
Maintains forms in the master control file.
Compiles and files timely the end of the month inventory transfer journal.
Tickets chargeable supplies in inventory.
Collects and batches daily patient charging.
Matches packing slip with purchase orders and forwards to accounting for further processing.
Works with accounting to resolve any unresolved invoices.
Files as needed.
Helping purchasing department with receiving and distribution of supplies.
Transporting patients from/to other facilities.
Moving patients from Med Surg to other departments within hospital.
Assisting activities director with patient activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Completes time sheet accurately and on a daily basis.
Utilizes company supplies efficiently.

Observes the Hospital/department dress code and wears ID badge.
Attends all required education/inservice meetings.
Complies with hospital safety and disaster policy and procedures.
Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to hospital and departmental safety regulations, disaster plans, infection control policies, and fire safety regulations, hazardous materials protocol.
Demonstrates a working knowledge and understanding of National Patient Safety.
Always utilizes Standard Precautions for infection control.
Responds to and uses disaster codes appropriately.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care and/or services appropriate to the age of the patients and/or customers served in his/her assigned area.
