Janitorial Crew Leader
Reports To: Office Manager
Department: Janitorial
SUMMARY: The Janitorial Crew Leader is responsible for supplying custodial services for Inside Out Landscaping & Janitorial at various contract sites, as well as providing training and leadership to other janitorial crew members.
Will coordinate work activities as necessary for the timely completion of contract requirements.
The Janitorial Crew Lead may also be responsible for the supervision, monitoring, and training of persons receiving services assigned to the Janitorial Crew at various contract sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all aspects of janitorial tasks as required to facilitate the timely completion of contract objectives, to include but not limited to:
Vacuum, sweep and mop flooring and stairs.
Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms.
Cleans sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and communal areas.
Empties all trash cans and replaces liners; cleans receptacles when necessary.
Dust and clean office desks and furniture that are not cluttered.
Cleans windows and windowsills.
Maintain janitorial closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Properly labels, dilutes, and uses all chemicals.
Properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at required times.
Performs other routine maintenance duties as assigned.
Makes independent judgments, within stated objectives and guidelines, regarding production/contract needs.
Communicates effectively with customers of contract sites, including suggestions for specific janitorial needs.
Performs basic servicing of assigned janitorial equipment, both powered and non-powered.
Provides for the safe handling of janitorial supplies and the safe application of cleaning solutions at designated contract sites.
Completes and maintains accurate records and reports.
Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary.
Supervises and provides work assistance to persons receiving services.
Provides training to persons receiving services and ensures that training is integrated with the successful completion of day-to-day crew work assignments.

Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; bend; lift; twist; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and see and hear and communicate with sufficient acuity to successfully perform all aspects of the job.
Employee will be required to work outside in an environment that may include inclement weather and extreme heat and/or cold.
Ability to safely lift and/or carry 25 pounds.
Ability to drive varied distances daily.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to successfully perform this job.
REQUIRE:
Any combination of education, knowledge, and/or skills, equal to a minimum of two years’ experience with commercial janitorial maintenance and janitorial maintenance equipment.
Ability to work with persons with disabilities.
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and maintain a clear DMV to be insurable by the Work Training Center’s carrier.
A fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice on file as a condition of continued employment.
Must pass post-offer, pre-employment drug screen analysis.
Ability and willingness to work afternoons and evenings, and the occasional weekend as needed.
Ability and willingness to work overtime as required.
Adherence to established dress and/or uniform standards.
PREFER OR WILLING TO ACQUIRE:
Two years direct supervisory responsibility over janitorial crews.
Class “B” California Driver’s License within three months of hire.
Current First Aid and CPR certificate, or the ability to obtain certification.
Previous experience working with persons with disabilities.
