Associated Students (AS) is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation of CSU, Chico serving thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members through myriad student programs, services and business enterprises.
AS operates residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union (BMU), and the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC).
Additionally, the AS offers a wide variety of services and programs such as: CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), the Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Operation Programs and Services (OPS), Sustainability and student government.
Associated Students is now hiring for the position of BIKE HUB STUDENT MANAGER .
This is a part-time, non-benefited student position that will work no more than 20 hours per week while school is in session.
The pay rate is $16.
28 per hour.
The pay rate effective 1/1/24 will be $16.
78 per hour.
The schedule for this position is based upon department needs and is subject to change at any time.
To be eligible for student employment, you must be enrolled at CSU, Chico and maintain at least 6 units (undergraduate student) or 4 units (graduate student) throughout the course of employment.

Bike Hub Student Manager SUMMARY Bike Hub Student Manager will work under the direct supervision of the Adventure Outings Program Director to assist with the managing and functions of a university bicycle repair program.
This position will work in the Bell Memorial Union.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintain and repair bicycles Complete various administrative tasks Attend operational and technical trainings Train Bike Hub student staff Create and maintain staffing schedules Organize semi-annual bike auctions Oversee repair and refurbishing of used bikes to be sold at auctions Submit daily sales reports Oversee inventory Make purchase recommendations Attend all staff meetings Coordinate staffing for workshops and events Other duties as assigned POSITIONS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED Bike Hub Student Assistant TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in a bike shop and occasionally in an outdoor environment with prolonged periods of standing and with regular contact with others.
Participation in various activities, events, and/or meetings on campus which may include evenings may be required.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; verbal and written communication.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS None KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS: Familiarity and experience with the operations of a bicycle repair shop, bicycle repairs and maintenance Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills Ability to undertake hard physical labor in hot/cold/dirty conditions (lifting, moving, using toxic chemicals, etc.
) Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Experience repairing and working on bicycles Experience working in a bike shop Special Requirements: Currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 units (undergraduate) or 4 units (graduate student) at California State University, Chico.
