Job/Department Summary: Under the general direction of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management serves as a member of the Vice President for Student Affairs leadership team and provides administration and leadership to Enrollment Management Services departments: Academic Advising Programs, Financial Aid and Scholarship Office, Office of Admissions, and Office of the Registrar.
The AVP is directly responsible for managing the strategic enrollment management plan and is expected to exercise significant judgment in the development and implementation of administrative policies and procedures relating to University, CSU, state, and federal laws, mandates, and priorities.
Overall strategic enrollment planning and integration requires building close working relationships with Student Affairs, Provost's Academic Council, department chairs, Institutional Research, Information Resources, and the University Budget Office.
The AVP is a key collaborator to develop and maintain student information and document management systems, constituent relationship management systems, vendor software integration, and institutional data security, analysis, and reporting.
The AVP is a member of the Enrollment Management Advisory Committee, University Budget Committee, and the Graduation Initiative 2025 Advisory Team focused on student success, retention, and graduation, and is the enrollment planning and reporting officer to the CSU Chancellor's Office; consults with and advises executive management and administration on divisional strategy and accomplishing divisional objectives, and critical and sensitive issues; coordinates development of plans and assessment procedures including program evaluation and review, outcomes measures for the division, and preparation of annual reports; and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience: Five years of leadership experience with progressively responsible and successful administrative experience in a related enrollment management services office.
Knowledge of state, regional, and national best practices and trends in admissions, academic advising, financial aid and scholarships, and an office of the registrar.
Demonstrated successful experience with student outreach, retention programs and success efforts.
Understanding of shared principles and governance.
Experience with developing and implementing a strategic enrollment plan.
Demonstrated skill in effectively communicating with all constituencies including the public and the press.
Demonstrated ability to foster collegiality and effective collaboration within departments and across the University.
Demonstrated skill managing diverse teams and working with diverse populations, and a clear commitment to what those populations bring to a university.
Demonstrated experience with implementation and management of integrated enterprise student information systems and institutional data security, reporting, and analysis.
Master’s Degree in a related field.
Preferences: Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: Bilingual.
Master's or Doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Administration, Communications or a related field.
6-10 years of progressive experience in university enrollment management.
Technical fluency with Oracle/PeopleSoft or other similar systems of record.
Time Base: Full-time Pay Plan: 12/12 Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm CSU Classification Salary Range: $75,000 - $240,756 per year.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $140,000 - $170,000 per year.
